Keeping your Beauty Routine Clean!

A beauty routine is a part of pretty much everyone’s daily schedule.  From makeup brushes, to shower loofas, to even bed sheets and pillowcases; it’s a must to keep everything clean. All these things have the potential to carry harmful bacteria which can cause acne and premature aging, so it’s imperative to keep a regular cleaning schedule. Doing so will result in fresh, youthful looking skin for both your face and body. Keep on reading to learn how to properly clean up your beauty routine!

Makeup is an essential part of every woman’s morning routine. We use makeup to enhance our natural beauty. For some, it may make them feel strong and confident so they can tackle the day! Either way, makeup includes the use of beauty tools, such as brushes, or sponges. On average, dermatologists recommend that you should clean each makeup brush at least every 7 – 10 days, especially those you use most often like foundation and concealer brushes. Cleaning makeup brushes with warm soapy water will do the trick! I personally use baby shampoo from Johnson & Johnson. This is a perfect product to use since it is so gentle on your beauty tools! Give it a try!

Next on the beauty routine is shower loofahs! Dermatologists recommend that you throw out a loofah after three to four weeks, since it easily grows bacteria in its crevices, and by that time will have lost some of its exfoliating properties. You should toss a mesh bath pouf, which is more resistant to bacteria, after eight weeks! Washcloths are a perfect alternative that not only protects the environment, it is also cost effective!

Lastly on the beauty routine, bed sheets and pillowcases! You might ask “How often should I wash my bedsheets and pillowcases?” The answer It depends. On average, most experts recommend weekly washings. You might be able to get away with washing your linens once every two weeks if you’re pressed for time, or you don’t sleep in your bed every night! Washing bedsheets is important to remove sweat, bacteria, and germs that can follow you into your bed. How often do you wash your bedsheets and pillowcases?

I hope you all have learned something from this blog! Please know the importance of washing and keeping makeup brushes, bedsheets, and pillowcases clean. Follow these rules with your beauty routine and watch your skin transform!
