30 Day Water Challenge!

It’s everyone’s least favorite time of the year.

You’re freezing in the morning, clearing frost and ice off of your car.

You work all day and your drive home is not only cold, but dark by 4:30.

All you want to do is fill your day with warmth. An amazing cup of hot coffee in the morning, a hot cup of tea in the evening… But just as important as it is in the warmer months, it is equally important to make sure you are getting your fair share of water mixed in with all the warmth.

Keeping hydrated in the winter months has so many benefits for our muscles, skin, and overall health and wellness. No matter our age, winter can be tough on the body. Simply walking outside in the cold causes us to contract our muscles, trying to keep warm without even realizing it. On top of our bodies natural cold defenses, we’re shoveling snow, cleaning off cars, or strategically trying not to slip on ice. Dehydration on top of all of these things can drastically raise your chances of an injury.

Our bodies skin relies heavily on water consumption. Clients are amazed when one of our talented estheticians can simply look at their skin and tell if they are drinking enough water or not. Winter months bring dry skin, but making sure to keep up with your water intake can help battle that dry skin and keep you glowing all winter long.

One of the best ways to find out how much water you need is a simple math problem (so simple it was easier for me to figure out than my 3rd graders math homework.) You take your weight and divide it in half, the answer to that is the amount of ounces you need a day. For example, if you weigh 150 lbs, you should be drinking at least 75 oz of water per day.

Give yourself a 30 day water challenge, drink the recommended water a day and record how you’re feeling, what differences you’re seeing in your skin, and any other changes you may see. The results will absolutely want to keep you pushing forward on your water drinking journey and turn it into a normal part of your life! Happy drinking, friends.
